Donating to the ReStore:

The ReStore primarily accepts good quality office furniture and supplies. We sometimes take building supplies, kitchen equipment, computer hardware and other materials, but only when we have specific client requests for such items.

TYPICAL DONATIONS: ReStore staff will first arrange a time to view and evaluate your donation. During the visit, staff can often tell you exactly what they will accept, and when they can pick it up. Pickups usually occur within two weeks.

Also, as a way to minimize costs for our clients, we often 'link' clients to donors. For example, if you have a reception desk to donate, and if we know of a client awaiting a desk like yours, with your approval we can 'link' them with you, and they can come and collect the cabinets themselves. If discretion or anonymity is desired, we can instead use our movers to execute the delivery.

After, ReStore staff will send you a ‘donation verification form’ upon request. The information from this form can be used to apply for a charitable tax deduction.

The ReStore reserves the right to decline any donation. Some reasons for our declining donations include: damage; missing parts; the presence of lead paint or another hazard; oversupply. Always call ahead.

Clean-outs with an eye toward reuse and recycling:

ReStore staff are now offering fee-based office clean-out services. Reusable items are saved from disposal and redirected to worthy nonprofits, while unsalvageable materials are sent to a transfer station. As always, tax deductions are available for all recovered materials. You save twice, through charitable tax deductions, and from reduced disposal fees. Call for a bid.
